ROUND 2 – Danger Signs Showing For Premiers

With Round 2 done and dusted and round 3 currently underway one thing is clear, Wavell & Ivory Toast have a fight on their hands. While Wavell Continued to dominate on the field this week it seems the pressure of fame & fortune has overcome Team Premiers Ivory Toast.

Casting our thoughts back to last week, Josh Bookers Ivory Toast team backed up from last year’s dominance and got Maroochydore off to a strong start recording a convincing victory over arch rivals Caloundra. Many saying they could go back to back, however every week brings a new challenge to the table that you must overcome to be crowned champions. With the weight of expectation on their shoulders to once again lift Maroochydore to the winners circle it seems as though the pressure has finally got to the team as they struggled to only have 9 players participate this week. New comers Ballgrabbers (Maroochydore) & FDB (Wavell) have kicked ahead 12 points clear and don’t look like stopping with all 11 players getting on board and gaining bonus points for their Venues victory.

Josh Booker had this to say “I’m devastated with the result after this week. I got complacent and trusted the team. We slacked off this week with reminders and evidently it cost us” “However it’s not over yet, Bonus points in this game are massive & with us coming up against FDB & the Wavell crew this week, we will be doing everything in our power to throw the kitchen sink at this game and take it to Wavell”.

Townsville, Maroochydore, Ferny Hills & Coolum all continued their winning ways making it 2/2 while heavy hitters Mackay & North Lakes bounced back this week to record convincing wins.

After Mackay’s Round 1 loss to Ferny Hills, Venue Manager Courtney Gordon was apologetic to her fellow team mates as she was quoted sayingBaby Brain affected me this week as I was all over the shop and forgot what was most important as we all do from time to time”. With her own performance under a huge cloud & fellow CQ venue Rockhampton ready to strike in Round 2, Courtney put all that aside and assured her team that what happened in week 1 was not going to happen this week. Poor Rocky didn’t know what hit them as Courtney & the gang took it to them from the outset smashing the cyclones 10-0 & taking bragging rights as CQ’s top Venue on the Social Media Platform.

The Rockhampton Cyclones who were just sitting outside the top eight in Round 1 have now dropped to 20th on the ladder and look to be in trouble as Caloundra who have narrowly come off 2 losses are off to a cracking start in round 3.

Rockhampton Venue Manager Ryan Scott was open to suggestions as how he can turn around his season before it’s too late “I’m out of ideas as to how I can turn this season around. The weather hasn’t been kind to us up her as of late and that’s really affected my face to face time with all my teams” “However I can’t dwell on the negatives and have to look at the positives, we can only improve from here and hopefully we can pull together a social media miracle to kick start our late charge”
